Master of Education in Leadership Degree - Ron Clark Academy Specialization

The Master of Education Degree in Leadership with a Ron Clark Academy (RCA) Specialization develops leadership skills in the classroom and in the community. Within these leadership roles, the RCA Specialization will help educators explore and develop their skills as exemplary teachers, supporters of sustainable education, and agents of change. Coursework in this program will prepare teachers to balance innovation and stability, focusing on the importance of creating a classroom environment that supports a diverse community of learners while directing the development of school and community programs that will encourage learning beyond the classroom. Program participants will enhance their abilities to teach through the RCA Specialization and become established as educational leaders by working with curriculum, becoming mentor/master teachers, developing new initiatives and participating in other activities that improve schooling for children.

Culminating Project

The MED is designed so that students create one chapter of their final project/thesis during each of the six leadership courses taken during the two-year program. The program culminates in the development of a ready-to-implement Action Plan designed to produce real-world change. This Action Plan is a one-year plan designed to bring measurable change to a school or community within the constraints of a limited budget ($5,000). The final Action Plan includes a program proposal, needs assessment, budget, community partners profile, implementation plan, formal presentation and basic marketing materials—everything a teacher will need to turn their plan into reality after graduation.

Transfer Credits

Teachers who have completed the Ron Clark Academy Educator Training Program can reduce the required credits needed to earn the M.Ed. by 6 credits if they complete a Professional Practice and Peer Development activity related to this experience.

Tuition

The cost of tuition is $13,995 for the two-year, 36-credit program. Financial aid and payment plans are available.
